ŠKODA JS, its people, and our predecessors stood at the birth of Czechoslovak nuclear power seventy years ago. Our generation builds on their work. We draw on their experience and knowledge gained during the construction of numerous nuclear power plants, and through our current projects we demonstrate the professional expertise developed over decades. We are, and will continue to be, a reliable manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of equipment for the nuclear industry, serving both domestic and international customers. Our people and their know-how are our greatest asset.

Karel Bednář has spent his entire professional career in the nuclear energy sector. Prior to becoming CEO of ŠKODA JS a.s., he led the Nuclear Equipment Division from 2021, having joined ŠKODA JS in 2017 as Head of Business Development. Before that, he gained extensive professional experience on projects at Dukovany NPP, Temelín NPP and Mochovce NPP.
He graduated from Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, where he also completed his PhD (1999). He holds a Chartered Engineer certificate for technological equipment, is a member of the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians (ČKAIT) and holds the EWE (European Welding Engineer) qualification.
Karel Bednář is married and has three adult children.
